Deal mediation is one name for a vein of mediation practice that I have long enjoyed. The main benefit is that the parties co-design a deal that is the right deal with the right people. As a mediator you also guide the parties on how disputes might be dealt with in a way that minimises the risk of the deal going badly wrong and in the best versions, build in mechanisms for managing changes so that the investment in the business and the relationships has the best possible chance of adding value for all.
