I also hope that others post thoughts on this because I think this is a terrific example of how an apparently straightforward case can conceal a number of very important points. Mediation is unique in its ability to allow parties allocate the relevant importance for them to any number of points of view. It is our job to reveal those perspectives in an even handed way. If we are not aware of our subconscious views, which we all have, then how can we be sure that we are not making a judgment, driving the resolution along that road, which leaves the parties with the same feelings of vindication/injustice that they have after trial or tribunal? 
 
Put another way: disputes are like bags of jelly beans. The bags look familiar, none has exactly the same proportion of flavours in them, you don&#039;t know what&#039;s in them until you open the bag and everyone has their favourite flavour! </description>
